Dr. Lahaie is a licensed and board-certified child, adolescent, adult, and forensic psychiatrist with over a decade of clinical experience. Dr. Lahaie provides consultation, guidance, and treatment to patients and families of all ages.

Dr. Lahaie received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Management with a concentration in Public Policy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Dr. Lahaie subsequently completed his medical education at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota, where he earned his Doctorate in Medicine.
During a sabbatical from medical education, Dr. Lahaie completed his studies in law at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law in Tempe, Arizona, where he earned a Juris Doctorate.

Dr. Lahaie completed his residency training in General (Adult) Psychiatry in the combined program of the Massachusetts General and McLean Hospitals - both world-renowned for their psychiatric care and training and both Harvard Medical School affiliated hospitals and training programs.
Dr. Lahaie continued his training at these hospitals in their combined fellowship for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, enabling Dr. Lahaie to work with children, adolescents, parents, and families.
After completing his fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Dr. Lahaie remained at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School for a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry, the subspecialty of psychiatry focused on working at the intersection of psychiatry and the legal system.
Upon completion of this formal training, Dr. Lahaie joined the staff at the Massachusetts General Hospital and the faculty of Harvard Medical School. Dr. Lahaie also subsequently joined the faculty of the UMass Chan Medical School.
Dr. Lahaie has also completed a one-year fellowship in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society, where this additional training focused on the psychodynamic psychotherapeutic treatment of children and adolescents.

Dr. Lahaie has accrued over a decade of clinical experience, having provided clinical care to children, adolescents, and adults across the spectrum of community, hospital, emergency, and correctional settings.
He has provided evaluations and longitudinal psychiatric care to patients at the Massachusetts General Hospital Yawkey Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Clinical Service. He has served as an Attending Psychiatrist for both the general and the child psychiatry arms of the Massachusetts General Hospital Acute Psychiatry Service, where he provides emergency psychiatric consultation and treatment to children, adolescents, and adults.
Dr. Lahaie has additionally provided forensic psychiatric consultation to individuals, attorneys, institutions, and courts as a psychiatric expert via his affiliation with the Massachusetts General Hospital Law and Psychiatry Service, which he currently serves as the Director (for forensic psychiatry consultation, please contact Dr. Lahaie at the Massachusetts General Hospital Law & Psychiatry Service).
Additionally, Dr. Lahaie has served as the Medical Director for the Maine Office of Children and Family Services via the Massachusetts General Hospital Psychiatry Visiting Service.
Dr. Lahaie has is active in the medical education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows, including students and trainees at Harvard Medical School and UMass Chan Medical school. He currently serves as the Co-Director of the Harvard Mass General Brigham Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Program. Dr. Lahaie also provides continuing medical education to colleagues via his roles as the Co-Chair of the annual Massachusetts Psychiatric Society Risk Management and Avoidance Conference and as the Course Director for the annual Law & Psychiatry Update at the Massachusetts General Hospital annual Psychopharmacology Update course.

Dr. Lahaie opened his private practice in Westwood, Massachusetts to provide personalized psychiatric care to patients seeking individualized treatment.
Dr. Lahaie provides psychiatric consultation to children, adolescents, and adults and treatment with psychotherapy, psychiatric medications, as well as parent and family guidance.
Dr. Lahaie understands that your mental health and the mental health of your family is of the utmost importance. His practice provides comprehensive evaluations in a professional environment welcoming families and individuals with an open-minded and patient centered approach. He strives to work collaboratively with you to customize interventions specifically designed to meet your needs.
Dr. Lahaie sees patients both in his office and virtually, and will work with you to determine the optimal approach. For all virtual visits, you must be situated in the state of Massachusetts. Dr. Lahaie is licensed to provide care in the state of Massachusetts, and not beyond its borders. All consultations are seen in-person in the office initially, while follow-up may be conducted virtually.

Treatment Orientation: Dr. Lahaie integrates multiple theoretical perspectives and treatment modalities to address your specific needs, including cognitive behavioral therapy, supportive and psychodynamic psychotherapy, and behavioral therapy. When indicated, Dr. Lahaie provides guidance and recommendations about the utility of psychotropic medications, and will prescribe medical treatments and psychiatric medications as indicated and should you determine they are in your or your family member's best interests.
